Just a few snapshots from the few days off over the Christmas holiday.  Bella got scratched by a cat so she had to wear a cone over Christmas so she wouldn't scratch the cut on her face.  She wasn't a happy camper. lol.

This Christmas i am thankful for my family and friends, and everything that God has blessed me with in my life. I hope everyone had a safe and merry Christmas, and now getting ready to celebrate the coming of the new year.  i am excited for 2012 and all of the exciting things this year will bring.  it's time to start planning for mine and Chris's wedding, and taking care of our family and hopefully being back together again.

Chris and I are pretty tired tonight, we had a big weekend. We went to San Antonio for a Christmas party Saturday night.  We did a white elephant gift thing and Chris ended up with a bottle of Jagermeister and I got a Cuisinart juicer.  I was thrilled. so much better than the people of wal mart book we ended up with last year. lol

I am so looking forward to Christmas and just relaxing for a day or two.  Hope you guys are looking forward to the holidays and seeing friends and family. 

How gorgeous is this fox fur coat my grandmother gave to me?  It was hers and she hasn't worn it in years, it is truly vintage but in fantastic condition!

Zip It Up

I can't believe the cold weather is finally here...well kinda.  yesterday it was SO cold, but today is has warmed up a bit.  This has been a really nice week, but i have to head to the valley this weekend for an event. 

I baked yesterday, I made white chocolate macadamia nut cookies and some buñelos.

Chris and I have a holiday party to go to this weekend on Saturday night, can't wait to get dressed up.  I love holiday parties and how pretty every ones houses look all decorated.  I will post some photos from the party afterward.

Light Showers and Lace

Sorry I have been a bit absent the bast couple of weeks, but Chris and I have had a lot going on!  His parents came in to town for a while from Australia for thanksgiving, and we were in San Antonio and Austin for quite a while.

It was such a fun thanksgiving, they had never experienced it before so it was pretty cool.  I won some tickets from work for the Houston Texans game, so this weekend we went to Houston from Friday night to Monday and just went to the Galleria and then ate at Hubbell and Hudson where my brother is the executive chef.

He did a 6 course tasting menu for us and it was incredible.

We had

sashimi tuna with root vegetable gellé and warm Parmesan broth poured table side with micro greens

Lobster risotto with cornmeal crusted fried calamari and lobster chunks

Handmade tagliatelle with lobster creme sauce with Uni and wasabi tabiko

Duck 3 ways: Pan fried, Patté, and grilled with a mango chutney

Sous Vide Fillet Minon with braised vegetables

Churros with spiced hot chocolate and caramel gelatto

Each dish was paired with its own wine as well.

Chris and I are just relaxing right now before we go have dinner.  We are meeting some friends at P.F. Changs. 

I am absolutely OBSESSED with their Oolong Sea Bass.  it is out of this world, if you like P.F Changs and sea bass and have not tried this...you MUST.

It is delish!

We steam cleaned the carpet at our house today, it looks amazing.  lol.

I am so happy it is November already.  Chris's parents are already here in the states, and they get to our house in 2 weeks.  I cant wait.

I know this is so random but i was thrilled to walk in to Starbucks this week and find that the Eggnog Latte was back!  i wait all year for that damn drink. Do you have a favorite holiday drink?

It's still not that cold here, just cool enough for a sweater which has been nice, but i am ready to wear a coat!!
